From an early age, Alyssa Sammons had a huge interest in film and stopped at nothing to make her dream become a reality. Growing up in Springfield Illinois, Alyssa was trained in theatrical production work since the age of 11. Stage managing, assistant directing, and directing her own performances, Alyssa inspired a new wave of young minds to become interested in production work. She is the youngest person to serve as the Stage Manager at Springfield Theater Center at the young age of 14. During her last two years of high school, Alyssa helped create and executive produce her high school’s annual fine arts festival, which has raised over $2,000 for the art department over the last six years. 

While she is trained theatrically, cinema was always the path she wanted to take. One of her earliest memories is taking her dad’s old video camera and creating her own short films in the backyard. That dream stuck and never changed. She is now in the process of making her dream become her career. Having obtained an Associate’s degree in Digital Media Design from Lincoln Land Community College in 2019, Alyssa has worked on a multitude of short and feature films serving various roles from PA to Casting to Directing. She recently directed two short films that were chosen to be showcased for the REACH: Curious Eye EX-Cinema Showcase. Alyssa is currently finishing up her Bachelor’s Degree in Filmmaking from Columbia College Chicago with a concentration in Directing.
